Adele's 'Hello' tops UK singles chart
The singer made a much-welcomed return to the limelight last week when she released the first track from her forthcoming album, 25.
With combined sales of 330,000, who didn’t expect the song to absolutely smash the single chart?
Since the release of the song, Adele has had over 1m youtube views an hour around the world, breaking records everywhere.
Her first two albums have also returned to the charts, with her last album, 21, being the biggest selling record of the 21st century. Despite this, however, this is only Adele’s second number one single, after 2011’s Someone Like You.
Not only has she topped the charts, her song has also become an internet sensation with people publishing all sorts of remixes and parodies, including James Corden and Billy Eichner’s Halloween-theme released on The Late Late Show.
