Patrick Mahomes teases Travis Kelce over State Farm ad poking fun at his name
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes took to X, previously known as Twitter, to tease teammate Travis Kelce over a State Farm commercial that aired during the New York Giants at San Francisco 49ers game on Thursday night.
Mahomes, 28, continued to pile on the trolling on Kelce after the insurance ad made fun of the tight end's last name. They joke about changing it to "Maauto" as part of their home and auto bundle.
Kelce, 33, starts the skit by telling "Jake from State Farm" that he doesn't like the new last name and suggest Mahomes changes his, instead, but it's not quite as catchy.
"Travis just needs to warm up to it," Mahomes tweeted with a laughing emoji.
The commercial ends with a coach calling "Mahomes and Maauto" back into practice, meaning Kelce had no say in his last name, after all.
Travis Kelce continues ascension into stardom
Mahomes has been a staple in State Farm commercials ever since his second year in the league, but Kelce is just starting to join him in the ads.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has also joined Mahomes in a State Farm ad and they've all been naturals.
The Chiefs TE has had a metoric rise to stardom over the past few seasons due to his success both on and off the field.
Kelce is currently making headlines on the daily due to rumors of him dating Taylor Swift.
