Taylor Swift's Commitment to Cat Fashion Remains Unmatched

Publish date: 2024-06-05

People tend to talk about Taylor Swift's style choices in terms of eras: her high-fashion, gothic-like looks from "Reputation;" her super feminine, fit-and-flares that came with the "Red" album; the colorful, rainbow ensembles we now associate with "Lover." A small description of where the singer was, musically and romantically, and we can instantly picture what she was wearing. Through it all, however, Swift's commitment to cat fashion has remained consistent.

As Swifties well know, the singer is a proud cat lady. She has three fur babies of her own — Olivia Benson, Meredith Grey, and Benjamin Button — who she often speaks about in interviews or posts about on social media. Heck, Swift even had a role in the movie Cats! So, it's really no surprise that, throughout her career, she's also enjoyed cat fashion, rocking images of the animal on bags, shoes, shirts, and more. Even as her aesthetic shifts and she adopts a sparklier, '70s-inspired vibe for her "Midnights" era, Swift's love of cat fashion continues.

So, it's time to give our girl (and her longtime stylist Joseph Cassell) some credit, applauding her passion for cat pieces and highlighting a few of our favorites.

We're well into the "Midnights" era now, but Swift hasn't abandoned her cute cat gear. While announcing her tracklist on TikTok, the singer wore a Linda Lori Vintage T-shirt with a white cat graphic. Earlier in the year, she was also spotted in a Stella McCartney cat sweater.

One viral moment from Swift's Miss Americana documentary was this shot of her cat carrier, which was just as fun and fashionable as it was practical for traveling with pets.

Swift might have missed the dress code memo for Gigi Hadid's denim-themed birthday party, but she did show up wearing this cat purse, so all is forgiven on our end.

Sometimes the perfect summer look includes denim shorts and a T-shirt. And if that T-shirt includes a cat print? Even better.

Did we just time travel? This graphic cat tee is very kindergartener-in-the-'90s, and, to be honest, we're not mad about it.

That's not just any drawing of a cat wearing glasses — it's a drawing of Swift's cat, Meredith, wearing glasses.

Swift wasn't just representing her favorite animal with this statement-making spotted coat, she was also wearing a top with a kitten on it (and the kitten was wearing a crown).
