Verstappen reveals why Alonso is better than Hamilton

Max Verstappen is aiming to secure his third Formula 1 world championship. The Dutch driver currently holds a comfortable lead in the championship, with a significant 53-point advantage over his Red Bull teammate, Checo Perez.

Not only has Max Verstappen won five out of the seven races this season, but if he maintains this momentum, he has the potential to surpass Ayrton Senna's 41 victories, as Verstappen currently has 40.

He could even catch up to Alain Prost's 51 wins and Sebastian Vettel's 53 victories this year. With 15 rounds remaining, Verstappen appears unbeatable, and his Red Bull RB19 car has proven to be incredibly reliable.

Verstappen believes that what sets him apart from other drivers is his ability to drive at the limit while remaining analytical and perceptive of details that others might miss when pushing hard.

He particularly emphasizes that Fernando Alonso excels in this aspect more than Lewis Hamilton, despite Hamilton's impressive records of seven titles, 103 wins, 193 podium finishes, and 103 pole positions. Verstappen acknowledges that his opinion may not be popular but stands by it.

"I do like to think that having extra capacity is a big advantage in F1 as well," he told the Sunday Times. "You cannot train that kind of thing. Only a few drivers have it.

"For me, definitely Fernando [Alonso] - I can feel that, from the way he operates in the car, picking up on little things, showing this extra capacity - still driving at the limit but thinking about other stuff as well.

Verstappen feels that he has already achieved all his sporting dreams in Formula 1. He initially had concerns about having a competitive car to prove himself, but he is now satisfied with his achievements.

"At the beginning, when I entered F1 what worried me was if I was going to have a car with which to prove myself. Luckily I got to that situation. And if everything goes to waste now, nothing will happen because I have already done everything I want to do in F1," he noted.

"I am already calm because I won my first world title and then I got the second. So, for me, at this point I have already won everything I could win in F1."

Looking ahead to the future, Verstappen has a contract with Red Bull until 2028. Beyond that, he envisions exploring other racing ventures while they remain competitive.

He expressed an interest in endurance racing, such as competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Daytona, or Sebring.
